Sorry, was having a little Rihanna moment there but nonetheless it does have something to do with this concept by Yoon-Jung Yun. Everyone eventually breaks a dish so why not purposely build in a second function should you get dish happy. Each plate has a rubber design fused into the enamel. If the dish breaks, save the rubber piece and use it as a coaster or pot stand.
