Nokia has launched the Nokia N900 which is powered by Nokia’s new Maemo 5 OS, and features a 3.5 inch WVGA touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480.
The Nokia N900 measures 110.9 x 59.8 x 18mm and weighs 181g, it features a sliding Qwerty keyboard and is powered by an ARM Cortex A8 processor.
“With Linux software, Mozilla-based browser technology and now also with cellular connectivity, the Nokia N900 delivers a powerful mobile experience,” says Anssi Vanjoki, Executive Vice President, Markets, Nokia. “The Nokia N900 shows where we are going with Maemo and we’ll continue to work with the community to push the software forward. What we have with Maemo is something that is fusing the power of the computer, the Internet and the mobile phone, and it is great to see that it is evolving in exciting ways.”
The Nokia N900 comes with 32GB of built in storage and features a 5 megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens and a dual LED flash, on top of that there is support for microSDHC cards up to 16GB and it features a built in FM transmitter.
Connectivity comes in the form of HSPA, WiFi and Bluetooth A2DP and it also features built in GPS.
The Nokia N900 will go on sale in selected markets October for 500 Euros, about $715.
