If you've ever lost your contact data on your phone or even worse, lost your phone, it can be pretty time consuming to put all that info back. According to the Boy Genius Report, AT&T wants to save you that time and effort. For $1.99 per month, you can sign up for AT&T Mobile Backup, which is a small app and service that sends your contact data to AT&T at regular intervals. If you need to restore data, it's all done over the air through the service.
Two thoughts come to mind: first, I only see this useful if you actually lose your phone and, by default, your SIM card. Second, there are a few free services that do this today, such as Zyb, which we mentioned last year.
