RNCOS最新发布的报道-全球镍市分析显示，截至2011年，中国镍的消费量将占到全球镍消费量的31%。
据报道，中国是最大的镍消费国，同时也产出大量的镍金属。事实上，全球镍需求增加，半数是因为中国消费量的增加。再者，镍被应用于任何一个产业的发展，结果镍市需求出现惊人的增加。目前，日益发展的中国钢铁行业，其消耗该国镍总量的40%，刺激了镍市的需求。
尤其是镍基不锈钢（即奥氏体不锈钢）在快速发展的中国需求飞升。中国广泛试用的是三种奥氏体不锈钢，200系列、300系列、400系列，而镍铬基不锈钢300系广泛应用于见者和生产行业。
RNCOS还进一步表示，中国城市化的加快预计也将推动不锈钢的需求，反之增加该国镍的消费量。
另外，中国2001-2006年间镍的消费量增长170%至23万吨，使得中国在2005财年是最大的镍消费国，其次是美国和日本。

With fast-paced urbanization and increasing use of nickel in industrial sector, nickel consumption in china increases rapidly.
RNCOS has recently released a new research report - “Global Nickel Market Analysis” which says that nickel consumption in China will account for 31% of the globle consumption by 2011 .
It’s reported that China is the biggest nickel consumer and produces a significant volume of nickel metal at the same time. In fact, half of the increased global demand for nickel goes to China. Moreover, nickel is used in the development of every industry sector, so the demand for nickel increases dramatically. At present, the rapidly developing Chinese steel industry , which consumes 40% of the total nickel available in China, is stimulating the demand for nickel.
Especially the demand for nickel based stainless steel(austenitic stainless steel) increases rapidly in fast developing China. There are there grades of austenitic stainless steel widely used in China-200 series, 300 series and 400 series. The PNCOS report further says that the rapid urbanization in China is expected to prop up the demand for stainless steel, which, in turn, will increase the nickel consumption in the country.
Further, from 2001 to 2006, the nickel consumption in China has increased by 170% to 230,000 dons. China is the biggest nickel consumption country in 2005, followed by America and Japan.
