The latest directory of “Web 2.0″ sites to spring up: SocialTrackr, which launches today. It lists websites in the social sphere, plus related info.
Although superficially useful, these sites haven’t worked well long term: BuzzShout, for instance, isn’t exactly booming. The way I see it, the sites that are most motivated to get listed, and vote themselves up to the top, are those that are too poor quality to get coverage elsewhere. It makes more sense for existing blogs just to provide a list of the companies they’ve reviewed, something we’re constantly being berated for not including.
