对于汽车最为简单的定义就是：有四个轮子的就是汽车，在中国中等型城市，汽车有着很大的发展空间，随着市民生活水平的逐步提高，在未来，汽车可能会成为像手机一样普遍的交通工具。但是随之带来的是环境污染、生命安全、交通路况等各方面的问题。
越来越多的汽车驶上了公路，但是却很少有人知道，司机每多踩一脚刹车、每多启动一次汽车，都可能会加剧公路沿线的重金属污染。中国科学院地理科学与资源研究所的最新相关研究表明，汽车带来的重金属污染趋于严重，如何防治这一问题应得到各界重视。所以从车身的材质上可以选用类似硅胶等材料加工成为新型车身，对行人和非机动车也是大有好处，降低车祸带来的伤害程度。
