Hangzhou Bay Bridge Opens

This bridge crosses the spaciousHangzhou Bay and connects Jiaxing and Ningbo, two prosperous cities in East China’s Zhejiang Province.
It's been finished since last summer. But yesterday, the world's longest trans-oceanic bridge opened for traffic here in China. The Hangzhou Bay Bridge is 36 kilometers of 6 lane traffic that links Shanghai and Ningbo, and will reduce the driving time between the two cities on the Yangtze River Deltafrom 4 hours to around two. The massiveproject cost 11.8 billion Yuan, but is expected to reap long-term economicbenefits for the region.
