I looked in the mirror
The mirror looked at me
A thousand lines crossing a troubled sea
Years of sorrow etched deeply, sadly.
I watched as the tears welled
A million regrets, a life of remorse
A journey that has lost its course
Smiles extinguished, happiness expelled.
My childhood memories in the glass
I reach out, but long since diminished
Thoughts of yesteryear failing, admonished
Reminiscences are clouded, life still troubled.
