无论是谁,总有一天要面对巨大的压力——不一定来自哪一个方向。生活这个家伙不简单,它总是可以找到一种你最意想不到的方式打击你。

而且很少有什么事情是独立发生的。也许你正生病着住院,股市却在狂跌,您在股市上的投资可以几乎全军覆没——因为脑子不够用了,自然判断不力,于是一股股压力隐隐浮现。

这时,我们必须想办法应对压力。

应对压力时要做的第一件事就是面对压力。承认压力的存在,清楚压力的来源,接受甚至可能令人毛骨悚然的现实。回避现实有时候也许也是一种手段,但于我这种性格的人来讲,实在是更难,想想那么做可能带来的结果更令我别说毛骨,连毛孔、骨髓都一并悚然。

感受到压力,无非是有问题存在。然而能解决的都不是问题,不能解决的只能接受。分辨问题是否真的能够解决需要智慧,有了这种智慧,从容尽管依然很难,但起码相对容易一些。很多的时候,所谓自由意志、自由选择其实只不过是幻觉,往往不得已的才是最终的选择。

真正的压力来自于对那些无法解决的问题的真切感受。那一瞬间,什么“无奈”啊、“茫然”啊、“身不由己”、“心有余力不足”啊、“原非我所愿奈何处其中”之类的感受想法如蜂拥而入。而这样的时候,其实只有一个退而求其次的、所谓的解决方案——转移注意力。

这样的注意力转移,本质上与所谓的逃避并不相同。逃避是在还没有搞清楚自己是否能够、是否应该应对之前已经退缩,那与清楚地判断确实无能为力之后理性地接受完全不是一回事儿。

我的幸运在于我有很多值得做的事情去做。于是我就有了“哪怕不得已”但也算是“有意义”的选择。判断一个选择之后的行动是否有意义倒也简单,就是看看那么做会不会有人受益——无论是自己还是别人。如果有,就做;如果没有,就做别的有的。

写到这里给我自己逗乐了。上个星期,我一定是束手无策了一阵子,因为有那么一两天一直在玩挖雷游戏,还特意跑到电子市场上买了个新鼠标,用它创造了97秒的记录——许多年前我自己的记录是115秒。想想那真是没事儿干了啊。还好,我已经找到了很多其他能做、该做的事情。

No matter who you are, you have to face huge pressure from different aspects. Life is not simple, it may bring you blows in an unexpected manner.

Misfortune seldom comes alone. The stocks might plunge when you are in hospital. You investment then turns into nothing, probably as a result of your inadequate knowledge and misjudgement, which in turn exerts you huge pressures.  

Now, we have to find ways to combat those pressures.

The first thing one should do is to brave pressures. We have to admit the existence, clear the sources, and accept the cruel fact. Escaping from reality might also work, but to me, it is likely to make things worse. The consequence of escaping may not only make my hairs but also my pore and marrow stands on end.

Feeling stressed means you have encountered some difficulties. Those that can be overcome are no means problems, for those that can't, just accept the reality. Wisdom is required to distinguish whether the problem can be solved.  

With wisdom, you still can't tackle problem easily, but at least you do not feel as depressed as before. The so called "Free volition" And ' free choice",  which is the choiceless resort when we are unable to tackle a problem, are nothing but illusion.

The real pressure comes when you encounter difficulties that can't be overcome.  At this time your mind will be filled with such words as helpless, vacuous, choiceless, powerless. Such being the case, your only strategy is attention distracting. 

Attention distracting is in essence different from escaping from reality. The latter one, unlike accepting the reality that are unable to change, is to retreat before confirming whether the problems can be overcome.

I am a lucky dog in that I have many worthwhile things to do. Therefore, choiceless things could also be meaningful to me. It is simple to judge if your action makes sense, just have a look on if any one benefits from it. If yes, then, go ahead; if not, stop to do something meaningful.

I was tickled when I came to here. I must have been at a loss for a while, because last week I have been playing mine hunter for days, I even bought a new mouse, with which I made a new record 97 seconds - I have kept 115 seconds as my record for many years. Looking back on this, I felt that I just idled all my time. Luckily, I have found some worthwhile things that I am able to do.
