CNN评论员骂中国人“蠢人暴徒” 燃起海外华人怒火
美国中文网叶清菲报道： 4月9日北京奥运圣火旧金山传递的时候，CNN做了直播报道。其中，评论员Jack Cafferty在回答主持人提问时，称中国人和过去50年一样，是一群“蠢人和暴徒”，引起了海外华人的极度愤慨。许多人表示，将对CNN发出抗议，同时抵制CNN的广告赞助商。
在这档名为“The Situation Room”的节目中，主持人Wolf Blitzer针对旧金山圣火传递中出现大批爱国华人保护圣火的问题，采访了CNN的评论员Jack Cafferty，问中国、中美关系是否与过去几十年已经非常不同。
Jack Cafferty表示，他不知道中国是否已经与过去有很大的不同，但中美关系已经非常不同。他同时还说，美国每年从中国进口大量的“垃圾”，美国的大量工作流失到中国，有些地区的工人以每个月1美元的工资，生产的东西最后到达沃尔马的货架上。最后，他说，他认为中国人“和50年来一样，基本是同一群蠢人和暴徒”。
Cafferty这段带有种族歧视色彩的言论，被网友制作成视频放到了YouTube上，随后在海外各大论坛传开，引起了大量海外华人的极度反感和愤概。
有人称“是可忍，孰不可忍”，同时表示如果华人不对这种极端的辱华言乱加以痛击的话，以后就会有越来越多的主流媒体加以效仿，华人的尊严、地位都将受到损坏。
更有华人组织表示，将采取具体的行动，对CNN做出声讨，并保留诉诸法律的权力。
Jack Cafferty这段话的原文如下：“Well, I don't know if China is any different, but our relationship with China is certainly different. We're in hawk to the Chinese up to our eyeballs because of the war in Iraq, for one thing. They're holding hundreds of billions of dollars worth of our paper. We also are running hundred of billions of dollars worth of trade deficits with them, as we continue to import their junk with the lead paint on them and the poisoned pet food and export, you know, jobs to places where you can pay workers a dollar a month to turn out the stuff that we're buying from Wal-Mart. So I think our relationship with China has certainly changed. I think they're basically the same bunch of goons and thugs they've been for the last 50 years”.

A net friend produced Cafferty’s remarks with racial discrimination into video and post it into You Tube Website. Then it spreads over all domestic and foreign forum , stirring severe rebel and anger.
