The first thing for you to do is to analyze the real reason why you broke up with him and try to work on it. I it was your fault, try to work on your self so as not to breakup again for same reason. While you are doing this try to start off in a slow key. Build the contact gradually, up to a certain point that both of you get to see each other constantly again and get more comfortable with each other's presence. And when you are together with, try to bring up plays that both of you loved doing then; you will be making him to miss those times.
As you spend time with him try to show him that you have changed. Taking away those things that lead to your breakup. Try as much as you can to look more attractive. Be so attractive that you tend to draw the attention of other guys. At least while he sees that you draw the attention of other guys, you tend to draw his attention.
You know that your will have to prevent the same reason that lead to the first breakup. With this you would be tending to a strong relationship with your ex.
