The fear of death should have no psychological or spiritual power over believers in God and Jesus Christ.

Physical death from this world is just a short-term process whereby our souls enter into another realm; either into eternal hell or eternity with God.

For Christians, it is important to understand the difference between the fear of death and the fear of the process of death.

There is no right or wrong if one fears the process of death since physical suffering is a very real part of the human experience in this fallen world. Fallen world means a world whereby man has chosen to throw God out and, by doing so, man has brought upon himself the reality of physical death as well as spiritual death.

It is spiritual death that one needs to be concerned about, and prepared for, before physical death.

For Christians, to fear spiritual death (where the soul goes after this life) should not be there whatsoever since God through Jesus Christ has conquered death by His own death and resurrection from the dead.

Spiritual death literally means 'eternal separation from God' - not a nice thought.

If you believe in Jesus Christ - that He died in your place, that He took the punishment for your sins in your place - so that you would not have to face eternal separation from God, and you believe He rose from the dead thereby defeating once and forever sin and death - you never need fear death again.

The wonderful, glorious beauty of your belief is that now you are a child of God, and you do not need to fear what happens to you during this life or after this life or how physical death will come about - because you know where you will be after you pass through the gateway of physical death into eternal life.
