A magnificent contribution is going to steal the show of art and culture by this month. ‘Ring Dome’ in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II Milan is going to get presented by the New York art and architecture gallery Storefront for Art and Architecture. This is a huge pavilion that is going to host a series of events featuring Naoto Fukasawa, Rem Koolhaas, Gaetano Pesce, Oliviero Toscani and others. The organiser is none other than Storefront itself in collaboration with Italian architecture and design magazine Abitare. The organisers will appear in Milan for the 2008 Furniture Fair, which is going to be held from 16th April to 21st April. It is here that one can see the new version of the Ring Dome pavilion by the Korean architect Minsuk Cho of Mass Studies. Minsuk Cho is the same designer who built of hula hoops in New York last autumn to celebrate Storefront’s 25th anniversary.

It was so impressive that even this time Storefront could make no other choice than Minsuk Cho. It is the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, the shopping arcade that connects Piazza Duomo and Piazza La Scala, where this pavilion is going to get build. It is a huge construction that is going to take place out of 1,500 hula-hoops and 12,000 zip-ties. It will not only be spectacular but will be one of its kinds in defining the style of pavilion designing. After all it is going to be a world class event where a series of events will get organized by Abitare and Storefront together. With all other things, the major attraction will be the 100-minute dialogue between Hans Ulrich Obrist, Pierre Paulin and Rem Koolhaas. There will be a domino-interview with 50 participants of Milan Furniture Fair ‘08. It will be a grand event with the participation of Naoto Fukasawa; Gaetano Pesce in conversation with Oliviero Toscani. The fair will get commenced ultimately with a day-long open editorial meeting that will brief the events and will cite the future plans.
