About mysteryfile

I’m Steve Lewis, and I’ve been producing Mystery*File on and off since the early 1970s, first as a printed zine, then on the Internet, and now as a blog. I’m presently retired from my day job, which was teaching mathematics at Central Connecticut State University, and which occupied my time for the better part of 34 years. For much longer than that, at the present time closing in on nearly 60 years, I have been reading and collecting mystery fiction, starting (of course) with the Hardy Boys. I reached the big time with the Perry Mason books, which I discovered and devoured once a good-hearted librarian at the front desk allowed me to enter and check out books from the grown-up section. (A big hooray for librarians!) Making lists and writing reviews came next, and it’s been a downward (or upward) path ever since.
